Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from spring of 2023.
Success also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.
His defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
